Moderate to heavy rain in Jakarta and the upstream area today has left at least two roads inundated in Petamburan Urban Village, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. They are namely Jalan Petamburan II and III. However, the current inundation is receding faster.

Petamburan Urban Village Head Setiyanto expressed the inundation had receded more quickly since the installation of an additional pump with 500 liters per second capacity at Jati Pinggir II Pump House.

"The inundated areas yesterday afternoon is indeed a basin area. But, in less than an hour, the condition had returned to normal, whereas usually it could take hours," he expressed, Friday (2/19).

Development and Drainage Improvement Division Head, Maman Supraman explained the pump installation from Yunani was carried out on Jalan Mangga Besar XIII, Jalan Industri, Jalan Rajawali Selatan and Jalan Jati Pinggir II.

"Those roads are the lowlands or basins," he explained.

His party was about to add five mobile pumps with 500 liters per second capacity through this year's city budget.

"Surely it is done to anticipate inundation in other regions," he closed,
